I feel like a crocus today. Popping up out of winter hibernation, beyond ready for spring after a very long and very snowy winter. There are still patches of gray snow in the yard, but the soggy ground is mostly bare and ready for new life. I’ve been outside since early afternoon for an Easter Egg hunt at my parents’ house. When we came home, our kids wanted to play outside so I went out too and started cleaning up old leaves and sticks and making more specific plans for what I would be planting and when. We grilled hotdogs, ate on our patio, and went for a walk and bike ride around the block. I haven’t been outside this much since October! Tonight, I’m feeling pleasantly tired in my body, but energized and eager for more days like today. Spring has finally arrived in Minnesota.
I don’t have a lot to say, but I wanted to write something a little brighter and cheerier to match my mood today. Wherever you are, I hope spring has found you. If not in the weather, than in other parts of your life. I think we could all use some new life, fresh air, and sunshine on our faces.
I’ll leave you with a haiku for spring:
A cheeky crocus raises petals in delight Stubborn snow begone
Happy spring!

Let’s all be a little cheeky like the crocus!!! 😀
Thanks for the reflections. And for naming the flower - one has sprung up in my yard. Didn’t have one last year.
